ACAC SUPREMACY TROPHY

This Award was first presented in 1967-68 and in 1997-98 it's presentation was discontinued. The ACAC Supremacy Standings are calculated by awarding a point value to each college for each sport based upon their finishing position in the sport. League sports (Badminton, Basketball, Hockey, Soccer, Volleyball) are assigned an 8 point degree of difficulty rating, multi-tournament sports (Curling, Cross-Country Skiing) are rated 6 points and tournament sports (Golf, Canoeing, Cross Country Running and Swimming) recieve a 4 point desgination. By multiplying the degree of difficulty by the number of participating colleges in a sport, it is possible to calculate the total points for the first place team in that sport. Every other participating college is then awarded points for the sport in descending order of finish by subtracting the degree of difficulty point value from the previous team's point total. Once point values for each sport are assigned, they are added together and the college achieving the most points is declared the ACAC Supremacy Champions. Only 4 colleges have won the trophy: RDC has won the trophy 15 times, MRC has won 10 times, SAIT has won 4 times and NAIT has won twice.
