2008-09 SeasonNovember 12, 2008 Olds College Curling, Eligibility Ruling, – November 12, 2008 Article 1 Section 5 Rule 2.6 of the ACAC Operating Code requires that the Eligibility List for tournament sports be faxed to the ACAC office at least four days prior to the tournament. The day the fax is to be received is day 1. The Olds College Curling Eligibility List was not received by the ACAC Office until Wednesday the 12 of November and the Curling tournament was scheduled to start November 14. Ordinarily, the Olds players would not be eligible to compete until Sunday November 16. However, in light of the Remembrance Day statutory holiday on the 11th , and in the spirit of inclusiveness enumerated in the OC, Commissioner B. Hendsbee is to assume that the Eligibility List would otherwise have been sent earlier had it not been a holiday. Therefore, the Olds College team is not eligible to compete in any matches scheduled for Friday November 14. Any matches scheduled for that day shall be forfeited. They are eligible to compete on November 15 and 16. Bill Hendsbee |
